Ossining Nonprofit Expo Highlights Local Organizations

The Greater Ossining Chamber of Commerce recently hosted the inaugural Ossining Nonprofit Expo, attracting a wide range of local charities and community organizations. The event took place at the Ossining Community Center on March 5, 2026, providing an opportunity for residents to engage with nonprofits dedicated to various causes.

Over 30 local nonprofits participated, showcasing their missions and initiatives. Attendees enjoyed interactive displays and could learn about numerous programs available to support community members in need. The event highlighted the importance of local engagement in addressing social issues, housing, education, and healthcare.

Community Connection Focus

Chamber President Jane Doe emphasized the expo's goal: "We aim to foster connections between residents and our vital local organizations, showcasing the initiatives that make Ossining a caring community." The event included opportunities for nonprofits to network, share resources, and brainstorm collaborations that can further serve Westchester.

In addition to promoting local charities, the expo featured workshops on effective volunteering and fundraising strategies. These sessions were designed to educate and inspire residents on how they can get involved and support local efforts.

Future Events Planned

Following the positive feedback from attendees, the Greater Ossining Chamber plans to make the Nonprofit Expo an annual event. They believe that increasing public awareness of local nonprofits will strengthen community ties and encourage more active participation from residents.

This first-of-its-kind event marks a significant step in promoting local nonprofits in Westchester, ensuring that community members are aware of the resources available to them and encouraging an engaged and supportive environment.
