Byram Hills’ Ice Hockey Team Falls to Rye in Championship Game

Byram Hills narrowly lost their chance for a first NYSPHSAA ice hockey title after falling to Rye. Despite the defeat, the Bobcats earned the honor of being named the Examiner-Area Team of the Season.

The Byram Hills High School ice hockey team faced off against Rye in the NYSPHSAA championship game held at the HarborCenter in Buffalo on March 12. The Bobcats put forth an impressive season but ultimately fell short in the tournament, with a final score of 4-2.

This season, Byram Hills enjoyed a remarkable journey, finishing the regular season 18-3 and clinching the Section 1 championship. Despite the heartbreak of not securing the championship, Coach Matt Kavanaugh expressed pride in his team's efforts. "We had a fantastic season overall.
